IIAG congratulates Burt Jones, owner of IIAG member agency JP Capital and Insurance, on his recent election as Georgia’s next Lt. Governor.  Burt Jones is a former member of the IIAG Board of Directors, former captain of the University of Georgia football team, and has served for the past 12 years in the Georgia State Senate.  During his time in the Georgia State Senate, Lt. Governor-elect Jones chaired the Senate Insurance and Labor Committee and was a strong advocate for the independent agency channel.

IIAG and our state political action committee (IPAC) heavily supported Burt’s campaign showing the importance of our association involvement in the political process.  As Lt. Governor, Burt Jones will preside over the Senate chamber and have significant influence over Senate committee appointments and the flow of legislation in the upper chamber.
