Jimbo FLoyd Elected IIAG President

Jimbo Floyd, CIC, was sworn in as President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia (IIAG) on June 15, 2024.  Floyd is the President of Turner Wood and Smith Insurance in Gainesville, GA.  He joined the agency in 2004 after working with John Hancock in Atlanta, Georgia.  In addition to his management functions with Turner Wood & Smith, he also specializes in Property and Casualty insurance and has earned the professional designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).

Prior to his role as IIAG President, Mr. Floyd served as the association’s Chairman of the Board, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, and Governmental Affairs Committee Chair.

    “Jimbo Floyd is a true community leader with deep relationships with decision makers across Georgia. His passion for politics and his industry knowledge make him the ideal leader to guide IIAG through our current market challenges as the President of Georgia’s largest agents association,” said John Barbour, IIAG CEO.

Floyd is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is a proud father to sons James and Henry.  He and his wife, Jenny, are active members of the Hall County community.  He has served on many civic and non-profit boards including Leadership Georgia, Gainesville Jaycees, United Way, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Young Agents of Georgia, We Care Foundation, and Gainesville First United Methodist Church.  His work within the Hall County Community helped earn him the Gainesville Jaycees Young Man of the Year Award in 2013.

    Also serving on IIAG’s Executive Committee through June 2025 are President-Elect Jarrett Bridges of Turner and Associates, Vice-President Robbie Moore of Legacy Risk Solutions, Secretary-Treasurer Kevin Panter, CIC of Kevin Panter Insurance, Immediate Past President Wendi Hamby, AAI of Hamby and Alosio, and National Director Andy Siegel, CPCU, CIC, AAI of Siegel Insurance.

IIAG is the unrelenting advocate for Independent Insurance Agents in the state of Georgia, representing over 500 member agencies.
